All-Hallows-Eve

Happy halloween everyone

Thursday (27th oct 2011) all day I had pains in the left side of well my lung. Woke up Friday (28th Oct 2011) morning and could not move as the pain was that intense, I was told that I should go to the hospital and get it check out but I was like ‘Na I’m all right just give me a minute and I’ll got to work’. The thing was I could not move and I know it but as everyone says typical bloke.

So by 6.30am I was in the hospital and was being seen by a student doctor, who went through some questions and checked my lungs. They also gave an ECG by which point I had to wait for another doctor to look through the information and then come and see me.

So this other doctor went through all the same stuff the student had previously asked me and then said that he was going to send me home with a prescription of codeine and to take paracetamol with ibuprofen. I was like ok then I’ll do what you say like a good person but then he come back and said that the head doctor of A & E said that I should go for an x-ray. Right I spent a total of 6 hours in A & E and after the x-ray I was told wait for to go home with a prescription of codeine and to take paracetamol with ibuprofen, oh yeah back to this one.

All they could surmise was it is something to do with the wall of the lung and if the pain moves to the centre of my chest and I start sweating then it’s my heart and I should go straight back.

What we think is wrong from searching the net that it’s could be related to a form of spasmophilia (http://orthomolecular.org/library/jom/1988/pdf/1988-v03n03-p145.pdf) and that my phosphate levels are high, so taking calcium and magnesium should re-balance my system. I’m not taking the codeine as that has phosphates in the formulation which could lead to worse effects. I’m also eating Bananas.

So much for giving up smoking, I should go back to my old ways and start again. I would better off.

These are so cool but I had to think off the paper cuts

What a day I had yesterday, so I feel off the wagon and had a smoke.

We’ve just been informed that our company as a whole is downsizing and from our site there will be 20 people being made redundant.  They will rate people in 8 different categories and how your are scored is whether you loss you job our not.

With the possibility of moving places this weekend and with paying off my car this is not what I need at the moment.

The one thing having that cig did nothing for me, there was none of the feelings that I used to get when having a smoke. Today I’ve just got on with my work and thinking about smoking is gone, no needs or wants.

Off with his head

 Bye 🙂

Day 4

I started all this on the 1st October and we are now the 25th October, so I’ve managed a grand total of 4 days with out somking.

That’s not smoking at work or at home now, things are looking up.

I thought that I should do a tag/logo/avatar etc etc

Doodles to stop smoking

Doodles to stop smoking

So I told you all about my weekend, so I should talk about smoking.

Well here it is, I’ve not had a smoke all weekend and up to now I’ve not had one (yeah jump around, jump round). Ok I know this whole thing was about doodles and quitting somking, as I was trying to keep both hand in hand but somewhere along this path it’s gone tits up as I’ve not done anything since the 14th Oct.

I’ve had all this stuff at work needing to be run and data collected and now with everything at home like looking for a new place to live, finding somewhere that will take a cat, selling my Austin 8 (1947) as I can’t take it with me, the money for a month and half deposit month rent upfront and the credit check money, so much money you have to shell out. deep breath.

So where does this blog head now I know it’s only 3 days not smoking. I could keep on doodling and working on my art or rant about the misfortunes of the world, who knows???

Lets see 🙂

Bye

What an interesting weekend I’ve had.

I’ve pretty much spent the whole time in the cinema as I’ve got an unlimited card and there is loads off films on that I wanted to see, so I decided to watch as many as I could at the weekend.

Midnight in Pairs – Owan Wilson, Director Woody Allen.

Midnight in paris This concept has been done over and over again but the only difference this time is Woody Allan has put his twist to it.The constant reference to famous artist is really good, if you have a good understanding of the art world and who shaped it then you will have a good appreciation of what Woody Allan has done here.Restless - Mia Wasikowska, Henry Hopper and Ryo Kase, Director Gus Van Sant.Restless

The story of a terminally ill teenage girl who falls for a boy who likes to attend funerals and their encounters with the ghost of a Japanese kamikaze pilot from WWII.

What can I say about this film. It has that art house feel to it and good profermance from all the cast, if not seen any of the films the others have been in or what the director has done before but this is one of them films you have to see.

Contagion – All star line up from Matt Damon, Kate Winslet to Jude Law.

Contagion

Well all I can say about this one, rip off from any other viral outbreak film. It has nothing new in this one just a bunch of stars that need a film to be in.

One of them I have to say is Jude Law with a poor english accent, down to a stuck on tooth.

I’m not saying it’s all bad, it does show what will happen if a contagent mutates. Like the H1N1 strane anything can change it’s complex to form a mutant that we will have no come back from. With increrasing population and the prolonged life span with ever increasing technology and medicine it’s more likely it will be a man made pathogen that will wipe us out.

Real Steel – Hugh Jackman and Evangeline Lilly, Director Shawn Levy

Real Steel

This was the last film from the weekend.

It’s just one of them that you can happily sit there and watch a bunch of robots beat the crap out of each other. It does have an underlining story about a boy and his father, where the boy starts to have that hero aspect about his father that was nether there in his life. Oh yeah and robots betting the crap out of each other.

Film that will open this week which I’m planning on seeing is…..
